iHubo lekhulu namashumi amabili nanye

 Kusukela encwadini „uJoshwa“ kuze kuyoshaya encwadini „uEsta“ kukhulunywa ngomlando kaIzrayeli engena eKhenani, kuye esikhathini sabeHluleli nasesikhathini samaKhosi, kuye ekudingisweni nasekubuyeni kwelaseBhabhiloni. Leso yisikhathi esingamakhulu ayisishiyagalombili (800) eminyaka, kusukela eminyakeni yenkulungwane namakhulu amathathu kuhlehla kuya kweyamakhulu amahlanu ngaphambi kokuzalwa kukaJesu, okungaphambi kwenkathi yenkolo yobuKhristu, inkathi esiphila kuyo [1300 – 500 ph.Khr.].

Ngokwenqubo yesiJuda, le ndima esuka kuJoshwa (imeqe uRuthi) ize iphelele encwadini yamaKhosi yesibili kuthiwa yindima yezincwadi zobuPhrofethi. Ziphathelene nokucwaninga umlando ngeso lobuphrofethi.

AbaBusi „abalungile“ „nabangalungile“

Izindima zeBhaybheli zizama kukho konke okwenzekayo ukukhomba nokulandela umzila wokugcwaliseka kwenhloso yoMdali kanye nezethembiso nezixwayiso zakhe.

Umbusi wezwe akalawulwa ngekhono lakhe kwezombusazwe: Okuthiwa ungumbusi “olungileyo”, yilowo owazisa uSmakade, agcine imiyalo yakhe; okuthiwa ungumbusi “ongalungile”, yilowo ophambukisa isizwe emikhondweni kaSomandla.

Ukuthathwa kwezwe

Incwadi „uJoshwa“ nencwadi „yabeHluleli“ zichaza ngokufika nokuthathwa kwezwe laseKhenani ngabakwaIzrayeli. Bathatha kwabaseKhenani izindawo nemizi namasimu namadlelo namadolobha amaningi, baklaya amasimu amasha, balima. Inqubo namasiko nenkolo yabomdabu babeyibuka ngeso lensolo nelovalo.

Ababusi nezimpi

Kwasekuqaleni-ke kwafanela ukuthi abakwaIzrayeli bahlale beviva bezama ukuzivikela ezizweni abakhelene nazo ababezephucé izwe lazo, ikakhulukazi isizwe samaFilisti (I Samweli). UDavida waphumelela ukuhlanganisa amaqembu-qembu nezizwana zonke zaba munye (II Samweli; I amaKronike). Indodana yakhe uSalomo yakwazi ukusibusa isikhathi eside esinoxolo lesi sizwe (I AbaBusi 1-11; II amaKronike). Emva kokukhothama kwenkosi uSalomo waqhekeka phakathi umbuso: owaseNyakatho (= uIzrayeli) wehlukana nowaseNingizimu (= uJuda).

Izithixo zabezizwe

Ababusi baseNyakatho bahlubuka kanye nombuso wabo wonke bazikiphipha naseThempelini eJerusalema. Bathatheka, bathakaselela inqubo nenkolo yabezizwe abakhelene nazo; iningi labo lagcina lingasawukhathalele neze umthetho kaSmakade abebekade bemkhonza ngenqubo yobuJuda. Dukuduku nakwaJuda kwaba njalo. Uma-ke ngokuhamba kwesikhathi umbuso usuhlaselwa nesizwe sesithunjwa ngabezizwe abalobi bomlando bakubona lokho kuyinkokhelo yalezo ziphambeko. Umbuso waseNyakatho, umbuso wakwaIsrayeli, wagcina unqotshwé wabhujisiwa ngabaseAsiri (II AbaBusi 17; 18,2-12).

Ukudingiswa nokubuya

Kwedlula iminyaka eyikhulu namashumi amathathu nanhlanu (135) nombuso  waseNingizimu, umbuso wakwaJuda, nawo wanqotshwa wabhujiswa ngokunjalo.

AbaseBhabhiloni bawuhlasela bawubhubhisa umuzikazi waseJerusalema, isizwe sakwaJuda basithumba (II AbaBusi 24-25; II amaKhronike 36). Nokho-ke sathola inhlanhla yokukhululwa futhi eminyakeni engamashumi amahlanu (50) emva kwalokho. IJerusalema laphinde lakhiwa neThempeli lavuselelwa futhi (incwadi uEzra; incwadi uNehemiya). Ukubuya ekudingisweni kwaba lithuba lokubuyela kuSmakade nasemthethweni wakhe. Isizwe sashayeka, saphaphama ngezivivaba esasedlulé kuzo. USmakade wayengazange nokho asilahle, asikhohlwe isizwe.

Wayelokhu abambelela ezethembisweni zakhe; isizwe sakhe wasithethelela, wasipha ikusasa elisha.
