UJeremiya wayephila esebenza eJerusalema kusuka ekupheleni kwenkathi yeminyaka engamakhulu ayisikhombisa [kubalwa kuhlehlwa] kuya ekuqaleni kwenkathi yeminyaka eyisithupha ngaphambi kwale nkathi esiphila kuyo [700 – 600 ph.Khr.] ngezikhathi zombuso wamakhosi oJoshija noJayakhimu noJoyakhini noZidkhiya.
